Sunrise In Yavapai

I live in New York. High rise buildings, subways, hustle and bustle and a whole lot of traffic.

So when I landed in Phoenix Arizona and was driving towards Prescott with the fresh air hitting my face, a feeling of nostalgia came over me. I'm an Island girl and was longing for wide open spaces and being outdoors. Even seeing and touching dirt and gravel.

Yavapai Hills, where I would be staying, is located in Prescott Arizona and is about a two hour drive from Phoenix.  I was  invited to Arizona for two weeks and was looking forward to unwinding after the case I was on was completed. I was told I did a good job and was rewarded with a memorable trip by two of the most amazing people anyone could ever meet.

What a breathtaking view it was when I finally reached my destination. I felt like I was on cloud nine getting out of the car and looking around. The beautiful home I was staying at sits at the top of the hill. I was surrounded by nature in all its glory and was loving every minute of it. I wanted to take it all in.

After meeting Sandy for the first time in person with her bubbly personality and smile that lights up her entire face, I also met Bob the cat. Who I'd later come to find, would be on the stairs to get me up every morning. I had already met Anthony, Sandy's husband in person, who picked me up at the airport. Anthony has a number of patents in Electrical Engineering and  is a published Author . I was given a tour of the house and the room I would be staying in. We sat down to catch up and talk about some of what was planned for my visit. I  eventually got settled in and soon it was time to turn in for the night.

Even though I didn't have to, I got up early in the morning just in time to watch the sun rise. Slowly it took a peek over the hill with its rays spreading outwards, brightening everything in its path.  The first day of my two week vacation in Arizona has begun.

There's a lot to see from the balcony besides the sunrise. Looking around it was literally a breadth of fresh air, endless trees and you may even be lucky enough to spot a deer. What you may not want to run into while you're on a stroll or going for a jog is a wildcat, which I was told could be spotted at times. There are four species that can be found in the state of Arizona.

There's nothing like being outdoors taking in the view of God's creation. Whether it is staring at the sky, day or night, admiring plants and animals or listening to the wind and watching the waves of the ocean hitting the shore. You can't help but think what an exquisite artist God is.
