It's easy to get overwhelmed by our circumstances. We become weak and discouraged because our minds are set on what we are facing. We must make that decision to let go of the things that we have no control of and give them to the One who is always in control. We need to position ourselves to continually draw from the Light of life. We need that Light to thrive so that we are blooming regardless of what is happening around us. Our feet should be firmly planted and our eyes fixed to our saviour, who promised He would never abandon us.
Taking only an occasional glimpse is not enough to give us the kind of joy and peace we need to make it through. It should be a constant reaching and spending time in His presence to get all that we need to sustain us.
Just as lilies look towards the sun because they are dependent on it to thrive, so should we focus on The Son Jesus, who gives life eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
